Christmas Delivery & Postal Strikes Information

Christmas Delivery & Postal Strikes Information

As a small family business, we have been using Royal Mail for over 10 years. Until recently, this service has been extremely good. However, the current postal strikes are causing delays to our usually very swift delivery timeframes and we have decided to create this page to give our customers support and important information should your parcel be delayed.

Christmas Delivery Guarantees

Royal Mail have brought forward their guaranteed Christmas delivery date to Friday 16th December. Therefore, to allow sufficient processing times, we are guaranteeing Christmas delivery on all orders placed by Wednesday 14th December. All orders after this date will be processed as usual, however, Christmas delivery with Royal Mail cannot be guaranteed.

Upcoming Postal Strike Dates

Royal Mail have listed the below strike dates:

Friday 9th December

Sunday 11th December

Wednesday 14th December

Thursday 15th December

Friday 23rd December

Saturday 24th December

Current Delivery Timeframes

In some areas of the country, we are experiencing delays of up to five working days beyond our usual 2-3 day delivery timeframe. This is causing some frustration for our customers and we can only apologise for this. At this difficult time, we’d like to thank everybody for their patience and understanding.

Escalations

We’re currently not able to escalate delayed parcels until 10 working days after shipping. Whilst this is very frustrating for us all, thankfully, less than 2% of parcels are taking this amount of time to be delivered. At this time, we do ask for a little extra patience before chasing deliveries, to allow our staff to focus on turning around everybody’s orders quickly and get more parcels into the system quicker. If your parcel hasn’t arrived within 10 working days, please contact us and we will of course immediately escalate this for you.

At this time, our customer care team are under an immense amount of pressure with the delays that these strikes are causing. We would just like to courteously remind everyone that we are human beings behind the keyboard that have worked tirelessly for many years on building a highly-reputable business. We would simply like to ask for kindness and patience, as we work through this incredibly tough period for us and other small businesses.

Tracking Numbers

Whilst many shipping services we offer with Royal Mail have tracking options, we are seeing an increase in the number of tracking numbers not updating as usual. Many tracking numbers are only updating on Royal Mail’s website upon the point of delivery, which is causing further frustration for us all. If your tracking number isn’t working, it will upon the point of delivery and show as delivered.
